At Kingsley Early Years Department (EYD), our mission is to provide excellence in quality education. Our EYD maximizes the positive aspects of all children by creating an environment  where differences are recognized, understood, appreciated and where all children are given an opportunity to develop to their fullest potential. We provide this foundation for children to  thrive and develop at their own pace.

We also take the liberty to boast our high educational standards for Nursery and Reception class teachers and assistant teachers by providing regular training sessions, professional development and continual curriculum & program improvements.

Our Early Years Department caters for children aged between 3 and 5 years old, offering a self-contained, safe and secure environment for our youngest learners.

Throughout the Early Years Foundation stage, children’s learning is developed through taking part in a wide variety of fun and play-based activities. All of these activities are carefully  planned and directed by teachers while at other times children follow their interests, plan, and create their own activities with teachers observing, encouraging and extending their play. These children will be provided with rewarding and enjoyable experiences in which they can explore, discover and create the foundations for their future learning.

Children’s learning is monitored using the Early Years Foundation Stage where teachers observe children closely and use the information to plan activities which will challenge, engage and help each child to progress towards the next step in their development.

Learning is based around short themes such as ‘Ourselves’, ‘Animals’, ‘Plants’ or ‘Transport’. These themes are chosen in response to children’s interests.

In the Reception class, children will work towards achieving Early Learning Goals in all the six areas of Learning and Development. They are expected to have achieved most of these goals by the end of the semester.
